Florence Jao is an associate in the Firm's Business department. She joined the Firm in 2003 and began her practice as a member of the Litigation department. She is resident in the San Francisco office.
Since 2008, Ms. Jao's practice has focused on estate and gift taxation, estate planning, structuring wealth transfers to charitable and non-charitable recipients, and planning for incapacity. She also forms family limited partnerships and limited liability companies.
Ms. Jao received her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 2003. While at Georgetown, she served as an editor for the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy and a Law Fellow for the Legal Research and Writing Department. In 2000, Ms. Jao received her B.A., magna cum laude, in Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought from Amherst College.
Ms. Jao is a member of the State Bar of California and the Bar Association of San Francisco.
