As the U.S. looks for ways to meet the goals of the Renewable Fuel Standard and address rising oil prices, biofuels technologies are being viewed as the promise land by policymakers and consumers.
In early 2009, Bio Economic Research Associates released its study titled "U.S. Economic Impact of Advanced Biofuels Production: Perspectives to 2030." The study's results claimed that the direct economic output from the advanced biofuels industry could reach $5.5 billion in 2012 and $37 billion by 2022.
But is this merely the latest pet industry, a life-line for biotech companies or is it truly an opportunity waiting to skyrocket?
Join us at the November 18th BIOCOM breakfast meeting as our panel discusses the future of biofuels collaborations including:
- Structuring the Collaboration
- Regulatory Considerations
- Trends
Panelists:
- Bill Baum, Verenium
- Wain Fishburn, Cooley Godward Kronish
- Greg Mitchell, Scripps Institution of Oceanography
- Ed Shonsey, HR BioPetroleum
