Cooley Ranks in American Lawyer's Corporate Scorecard
Palo Alto, Calif. – April 9, 2010 – Cooley Godward Kronish LLP ranked fourth last year in follow-on offerings and ranked among the top 25 M&A legal advisors to U.S. companies based on the number of transactions valued at more than $100 million, in The American Lawyer's annual Corporate Scorecard rankings appearing in the magazine's April 2010 issue.
"During the slowdown in the capital markets last year, which reduced activity across the board, companies continued to turn to Cooley for their milestone events," said Eric Jensen, head of Cooley's firmwide business department. "These rankings validate the firm's longstanding role advising technology and life sciences companies."
Cooley's M&A practice ranked ninth nationally and third on the West Coast last year for the number U.S. deals completed as counsel to principals (Sources: Bloomberg, MergerMarket). Continuing the firm's capital market activity in 2010, in February Cooley advised on Silicon Valley's first IPO of the year when it represented QuinStreet, Inc. (Nasdaq: QNST), in connection with the company's $150 million initial public offering of common stock.
